McCullough Design Studio

McCullough Design Studio is a New York based independent apparel brand founded in 2022 out of a weaponization of my degrees. My alternative approach to standard conventions is to create fashion from textile waste so as to mitigate the industry’s detrimental impact on the environment to create style and beauty out of what others would disregard. This complex approach to garment production ensures a heightened standard of quality and maintains our mission of making unique pieces you won’t find on the fast fashion racks. All products distributed are designed and hand made by myself and a small team of friends and family. The company releases new products periodically through the online store which are announced across social media. With select worldwide distribution, McCullough Design Studio caters to the eclectically chic individual who demands to wear clothing that is as individual and expressive as they are. Each piece is hand crafted by me. Whether it be a thrift flip, an customized alteration, or a garment born from scratch, each creation is like a child of mine and I hope to rehome them to a loving wearer.

If nothing here speaks to you, you’re not speaking my language.

As a small batch producer, all styles are skillfully constructed by hand in our workshop by myself. By subverting the status quo of mass production, I am able to focus on craftsmanship and detail work while releasing a controlled amount of product. Each garment lists the number of units made per style and creation date. My objective is to offer a limited amount of unique product to a limited amount of unique people. If that’s you, welcome.

Limited Production

Our design philosophy is that beauty can be found in everything. This manifests in the vein of mitigating waste; to create fashion from the remnants discarded in the industry’s vast wake. This means creating one of a kind and limited quantity garments out of textile waste, dead-stock, up-cycled thrift finds, and vintage fabrics. Additionally, we seek to source sustainable basics for the use of our creative, in house screen printed and embroidered apparel.

My Objective

Heads Up!

I do not create clothing for everyone. I make a limited number of interesting clothing for a limited number of interesting people. May the few styles in circulation go to the rebels of streetwear; to the coterie of individuals who are unapologetically themselves because pretending not to be is too time consuming.

If this isn’t you, you know where you regularly shop.

The Logo

The logo was conceived in 2015 by the lead designer and incorporates their initials crafted into the shape of an elephant, representing strength, pragmatism, and perseverance.

The lead designer of this operation hails from Upstate New York and lived as a Brooklyn loner prior to the plague. Having obtained their BFA in Fashion Design and their MPS in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management from LIM, this 20-something’s talent is weaponizing their degrees and blazing their own path in an industry bloated with elitism and unnecessary competitiveness. Their passion for imagination, creativity and artistry fuels their pursuit of endeavors in which they can birth their cerebral concepts into our physical world for others to enjoy.
